Samos

Samos is the birthplace of the Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras, after whom the Pythagorean theorem is named, the philosopher Epicurus, and the astronomer Aristarchus of Samos, the first known individual to propose that the Earth revolves around the sun. According to the ancient Greek mythology, goddess Hera was also born in Samos. It belongs to the North East Aegean Islands complex, located at a very close distance to the Turkish shore.

Pythagorion

Pythagorion is a village of Samos, built on the southeastern side of the island. It is located south of Samos town, just 12 Kilometers from it, in the most developed touristic area of the island. It has a very good tourist infrastructure and offers many alternatives for accommodation, both within the city and in short distance of the region.

In traditional taverns and cafes popping up everywhere in picturesque squares and narrow streets you can taste and enjoy the local cuisine and it’s delicacies with the accompaniment of fine delicacies that remind the visitor the proximity of the island to Asia Minor.
